Hello world!

My name is Shin, I live with my lovely wife and our children in a beautiful natural setting. The Itoigawa region has been classified as a UNESCO Global Geopark, a geological and ecological treasure of diversity, which offers wonderful landscapes and unusual geological features, that show how the Japanese islands were formed (http://www.geo-itoigawa.com/eng/). 

In front of Sanraku Guest House is a large spring fed pond and the wild Nou River, nestled in a mountain valley full of forest trees, flowers, animals, insects, life is everywhere!
You can experience an authentic rural Japanese lifestyle, based from Sanraku Guest House, a place to relax and recharge in living nature, where the mountains and rivers meet the Sea of Japan.

Our Guest House opened in 2015, and we would like to share with you, healthy meals, live music, quiet contemplation and good times, in the loving arms of our mother nature!

The Space
our private rooms are prepared with traditional Japanese futon beds, not the western style of bed frames and mattresses.
We have a large and luxurious common lounge space with mountain and river views.
We have a working kitchen, and can provide meals.
We do not offer Wi-Fi or Television, because we believe nature can provide the best quality of enjoyment.

 

Guest Access
We provide personal staff assistance for our guests.
Bus number 13 Nou Line (nishi mawari), provides around seven bus services per day, from Maseguchi Bus Stop (75 metres from our front door) to Nou Train Station (10.4Kms) on the Nihonkai-Hisui Line, near the mouth of Nou River (11.5kms).
A day spa, a public Onsen hot water baths is 550 metres from Sanraku Guest House.

Other things to note
(1) There is no Wi-Fi. If do require Wi-Fi, it is available free Wi-Fi in Gongenso, which is about a 5-minute walk away.
(2) There is no air conditioning. We are located deep in the mountains, so in the middle of the night, a cool wind blows through the windows.
Still, there are some hot and humid nights during the summer. In such case, just before going to bed, we recommend our guests take a dip in a cold pool with 100% natural mountain water to cool your body, open the window, turn on a fan, and with an ice pillow (provided), sleep soundly until morning.
(3) About Meals
This is a room-only rate.
If you would like breakfast or dinner, please consult with us in advance, regarding your budget and preferences.
Breakfast is 1,000 yen, and dinner starts from 2,000 yen (for large plates and campfire meals, etc.).
In the kitchen, a microwave and toaster are available, so you can bring in bento and simple foodstuffs to prepare basic meals.
